02 · Formation
Born into Grasse's perfumery tradition, Aurélien Guichard's lineage extends back seven generations in fragrance creation and cultivation. His formative years were spent amidst the rose and jasmine fields central to his family's enterprise. He honed his craft at the esteemed Givaudan Perfumery School, subsequently commencing his professional journey at Givaudan, where he collaborated with a diverse portfolio of international brands.
03 · Practice
Now a master perfumer, Guichard has established his own brand, Matiere Premiere, launched in 2019, which often highlights a single natural ingredient per composition. He has also taken on the custodianship of his family's rose farm. His creative ethos is deeply personal, frequently translating life's narratives and intimate connections into olfactive form, resulting in elegant and distinctive perfumes.
